Privacy policy

This policy explains what Spotlight Security UK Ltd does with personal information. We are the data controller. Our address is 700 Huddersfield Road, Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury WF13 3HU.

What we collect

• When you enquire. Your name, phone number, email address, postcode and whatever you tell us about the property.
• When we quote and install. The installation address, site details and notes an engineer records about the job.
• When you use this website. Standard server request information. We do not set analytics or advertising cookies unless you agree to them.

Why we use it

To answer your enquiry, arrange and carry out a survey, quote for the work, do the work, support it under guarantee, and keep the records we are legally required to keep. The lawful bases we rely on are performance of a contract, our legitimate interest in running the business, and consent where you have given it.

Who we share it with

Nobody, other than suppliers who need it to fulfil your order, and professional advisers or authorities where we are legally obliged. We do not sell or rent your details to anyone, and we do not pass them to other trades for marketing.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within twelve months. Installation records are kept for seven years, which covers the guarantee period and our accounting obligations.

CCTV footage from systems we install

Footage recorded by a system we have installed belongs to you, the system owner, and is stored on your equipment. We do not have access to it. If a camera you own overlooks a public space or a neighbour's property, you become a data controller for that footage under UK GDPR, and we will point that out at the survey.

Your rights

You may ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it. Email info@spotlightsecurityuk.com or write to the address above and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at a href="https://ico.org.uk" rel="noopener">ico.org.uk/a>.
